More from my travels. You see this window on the way to the Sistine Chapel. They take you through all these stairs and walkways, and you end up smack in the middle of the Chapel, but on the way there are a lot of beautiful pieces of art, including this stained glass window. This picture turned out really well, somehow.

The Cirque is in Town...

Corny title aside, Forever 21 just created this... capsule collection, I guess... called Cirque 21. At first glance, I didn't like any of it, but after actually going through the individual pieces, I realized just how cute most of them were.

Okay, first of all: those jackets and vests are ridiculous. I want all of them, but I have to see if I can justify buying 100 dollars worth of outerwear. Sounds pretty worthwhile to me! :P Anyway, I quite like the girly, retro bandleader/ringleader vibe that this collection has. Lord knows I rarely ever wear skirts or dresses, but I can definitely see myself wearing the jackets and shirts with pants. Speaking of pants, I'm trying to get out of wearing jeans so often. It's hard, though!

Oh, and if you're wondering why there are so many posts about F21, it's because I stalk that store. It's pretty sad, really.

Photos from F21, obviously.
So yes, I went to see Spring Awakening at the Kennedy Center this past Saturday. We actually got there about 20 minutes late, so I missed seeing my favorite song from the play, "The Bitch of Living." Buuuuuuuut...

During intermission, we went to the box office to see if we could get on-stage seats for the later show. There weren't any, but there was one ticket for Sunday's show at 1:30. My best friend graciously offered to pay for the ticket (because on the train, I was visibly upset about being late, I suppose), so I got to go again.

On Sunday, I sat stage left. Honestly, the show was great from the balcony, but it was SO. MUCH. BETTER on stage. The actors were leaping around, dancing, singing at us... it was great. I would actually see the play again.

Also, Craig from Degrassi (Jake Epstein) plays Melchior Gabor. I must say though, I liked the "ensemble" more than the principal characters. The guy who played Moritz Stiefel, , was ah-mazing. He was a little hammy, but I think that was intentional; his singing, however, was incredible and gave me goosebumps.

Kay, so that's enough gushing.

After the show on Saturday, my friend and I went to this restaurant called Acadiana. If you live around D.C., do yourself a favor and GO to Acadiana. From the minute they brought out the biscuits, I knew we had made a good decision.

We had: buttermilk biscuits with some sort of chili pepper marmalade and butter concoction, plums and peaches wrapped in prociutto, a trio of pies (vegetable, crawfish, and pork and beef), redfish, and finally, crawfish. All of the food is Cajun-Southern... and all of it is delicious.

I didn't take any pictures of the food, because I always feel funny doing that, but maybe next time...?

How'd you spend your weekend?

It's the bitch of living...

I'm going to see Spring Awakening today, and I am SO. EXCITED. I can't wait!!!

I don't know what to wear though... It's a hot day out (high of 89), but it'll probably be cold in the theater. Decisions, decisions. I wish pictures were allowed during the play (though I totally understand why they're not), so I could show you what I'll get to see. Oh, well.

Forever 21

Is this supposed to be Mickey Mouse dressed up as Galliano? If so, this is SO. FREAKIN'. CUTE.

Edit: Well, maybe it's supposed to be a pirate. But still...

Sorry I haven't been around lately, I've been working. Updates this weekend!

Two of my favorite places

I don't feel like posting anything fashion-related today, so here are some pictures I took in my hometown (D.C.), Paris and Naples. I think I'm about due for a trip! Oh, also... the D.C. photos were taken from a moving trolley, so I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out! :P

Sacre Coeur in Montmartre, Paris

National Museum of the American Indian, Washington, D.C.
I really should crop the cars out of this...

Jefferson Memorial, Washington, D.C.

Galleria Umberto II, Naples, Italy

Palazzo Reale, Naples, Italy

Curse you, Outnet.com

Why is my size sold out?!?! If you wear 7.5 or smaller, these Moschino Cheap and Chic suede wedges are on sale for $120. That's 70% off. *dies*

Before I go...

Go see this movie! You won't regret it.

Road trip!

I won't be back till next week, because tomorrow I'm going here...

Atlanta! Woot! I've never been and I'm really excited. Hopefully, I'll get some nice pictures. If I do, I'll post them here. Any suggestions as to where to go?
