Punk Looks at Topshop

These pieces might prompt me to make my first (online) purchase from Topshop...

Super-skinny legs on every look, of course.

Best of London Fashion Week

Super-late, I know!! I'm sorrrrrrrrrrrrrrry, please forgive me.

Armand Basi One

Interesting use of sheers... I never thought I would like this, but I do! I think I'll try the look on the right, but in a more covered-up way. Maybe a sheer shirt underneath a cosy cardigan that has cut-outs? I'm also loving the shapes of the skirts (probably because that shape looks best on me...and thus probably looks best on most people, because let me tell you -- I am no stick-thin model).

Basso and Brooke

Love, love, love the dress on the right. I want it. Check out the gigantic bobby pins in their hair!

Christopher Kane

Who know that tons of circle appliques would work? I particularly like the dress on the right: sheer fabric, beautiful circle pattern. The shoes top it off, but they look pretty dangerous to walk in!

Eley Kishimoto

I picked this picture to show two of the tight prints used at Eley Kishimoto. Gorgeous! But ultimately unwearable? Tell me what you think!

Fashion Fringe

These are by Eun Jeong Hong, who I just read about the other day. Infuriatingly, I can't remember where... dammit.

Mulberry

Haven't been a Mulberry fan in the past, but this is the first collection I've seen in a long time that I feel I could wear every piece, as is. Nice work. I'm loving the rich color palette -- no pale pastel colors here!

Milan Fashion Week

I absolutely adore Suzy Menkes, and it was mostly her articles that made me want to try my hand at fashion journalism, so in tribute to her (and to the designers at Milan Fashion Week, of course), here is a slideshow of her commentary on Milan FW so far, via iht.com.

And, to tide you over, a peek at Gianfranco Ferre's RTW collection. I call it... the "cloud."

Slight Break

I haven't posted in a few days, and that's been on purpose. This week has been pretty busy, what with schoolwork, standardized test prep, various social events, etc. I will be starting up posts again, so expect to see some London Fashion Week highlights soon.

Love,
The Frocker

P.S. Did you like how I covered the NY Fashion Week? I tried to combine having lots of pictures with lots of commentary, but I think this time around I'll be much more choosy with what pictures I upload. That way, I'll be able to go more in-depth and explain what I mean, rather than just having one or two sentences about each pictures.

GO International report

I went to Target last week and checked out all of the pieces that I mentioned in this post.

1. The plaid sleeveless dress with an exposed zipper was gorgeous, but it looked terrible on me. I wouldn't suggest it if you've got big boobs or an undefined waist.

2. I saw the other plaid dress. It's hideous. It's velvet, or some substitute, and the colors really don't look good in real life.

3. The houndstooth shirt looks pretty nice in real life. I didn't get a chance to try it on though.

Devi and Derek

Truly a ready-to-wear look from Derek Lam.

Very Katharine-Hepburn-meets-Bo-Derek.

Devi Kroell:
This is my 100th post!! Woot.

Cynthia Rowley & Costello Tagliapietra

The ticking background of Cynthia Rowley's Spring RTW show is a countdown to her next runway show. Poor thing -- it must really suck to be a designer in terms of runway shows. Your work is literally never done!

A few of her dresses had those awesome mini dress outlines on them. I wonder what that was all about.

The belts look like gigantic bracelets... wonder how I could recreate this look in real life... for cheap.

Costello Tagliapietra:
I totally see a Halloween costume coming from this: Sexy Speed Racer. You know you want to do it.

Pouf skirts!! I'm happy to see that tulip skirts and pouf skirts are here to stay.

Benjamin Cho and Carlos Miele

Benjamin Cho:

90's inspired... hmm.

Love this dress! The peacock, depicted in an unusual white, goes from a 2D design to 3D. Pretty awesome.

I like the "exploded ink pen"/inkblot look of his prints, even the lace dress.

I mainly put this here because I love Bruna Tenorio.
