This is definitely not my usual style, but I can see a lot of this being work-appropriate (if you work in a non-creative environment). I'm a sucker for lace, so that's what caught my eye at first.
Something a little different from 3.1 Phillip Lim this season, I think... I think the plaid vest dusters are pretty interesting and definitely very 90's. Not sure what to think about those boot/sandal things, though.
Seems like white will continue its reign into fall, but at least now it's tempered by black, which is more palatable for me.
Of note: Layering outerwear (coat + vest/jacket/blazer + cardigan), leather details, monochrome outfits, fabric mix pieces.
I won't lie, what actually drew my attention at first was the set. I'm into interior design as well (big ups to Apartment Therapy), so I was intrigued by the chair, the wallpaper, and the fireplace, which you can't really see in these photos. Anyway, back to the clothes -- I'm not a big fan of Alice + Olivia usually, but I really liked the prints included in this collection.
I only want to talk about one thing here, and that's the last two dresses. They're made to look like a dress that's been halfway taken off, and damn, if that isn't cool as hell.
i'm really impressed with Philip Lim...and Elizabeth James looks really lux with the fabrics they have going on there. I love the Boot things though. I've always loved wierd boots i don't know. Maybe I've been watching too many Underworld Vampire Movies. I always get inpiration from that movie.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but open toe boots just make me cringe! I just can't imagine the appropriate weather to wear them in... so like, your legs are sweaty from the leather, but your toes are out? LOL!
