Frock Yeah is movin' on up!

Fish don't fry in the kitcheeeeen, beans don't burn on the griiiiill - Okay, I'm done.

Frock Yeah is growing up! I've bought a domain for my blog, finally. Nothing wrong with Blogspot, I just wanted to feel like my blog was more my own, you know what I mean?

So please, please, please, update your links, Bloglovin, RSS, other readers, etc. to the new link: frockyeah.co. (This post is mainly so that those of you who follow me through readers like Bloglovin will see that there's something new! Bloglovin' won't update anymore, since the link is new.)

I appreciate every single one of you and I want to keep chatting, so join me at Frock Yeah's new address!

Lyst is basically my window shopping site. When I go on here, I like to pretend I have Givenchy money and add stuff I'll never get my hands on here. A little fantasizing never hurt anybody, right?

Fashion Week Posts

Hey all,

You guys know I always do Fashion Week posts. I'll still do them this time, but I am so busy with school and my thesis that I don't feel that I have time to write up much. So it'll just be collages for the time being, BUT what I think I will do (when I have a little more time) is go back and write blurbs for some of them. When/if I do that, I'll re-post them so you don't have to click back -- so if something looks awfully familiar, that's why. Hope you're all enjoying Fashion Week(s)!

Quickie

Just doing a quick post. As promised, the rest of my fashion week posts will come this weekend. This week's been so crazy...

Oh, and because someone always asks:

For the major Fashion Weeks, I take the photos from style.com. However, I do make the collages and add in the text myself. :)

Exciting news!! (Part 2)

Jordana from Jordana Wants to Know asked me to do a guest post on Barbie's fashion from her inception to now. Check it out here!

Here's a little excerpt:

Guest Post: Barbie’s [Fashion] [R]Evolution

Malibu
Malibu Barbie, 1971

You may have noticed that as time goes by, Barbie wears more revealing clothing – but I believe that’s (partly) a reflection of the times.  When was the last time you saw a teenage girl wearing a full length skirt?  Or even one that covers her knees?  Mattel has clothing designers for Barbie, and they do trend research like any other clothing company does; it’s not surprising that, in a time of miniskirts and shirts passing for dresses, Barbie shows a lot of leg.  That being said, there’s no real reason for Barbie to be nearly naked.  Mattel may have some ‘splaining to do for the skimpier outfits they sell.
But while regular Barbies have a few bad run-ins with overly shimmery fabric and a tad too much denim, collectible Barbies are dressed very differently.  These are the dolls that Mattel claims to market toward adult collectors, and are usually the ones that garner the most negative attention from those who claim that Barbie dresses like a hoochie (see this article by an angry mom).

Some interesting news

An interesting/fun opportunity came up for me this week -- I'm doing a guest post! It'll be on a friend's blog very shortly. I'll keep you updated, of course.

P.S. Go USA! (for today's soccer game)

Sometimes I get lucky... :D

For the first time ever (I believe), I entered a giveaway and won! It was on Twitter, hosted by Washington Post Fashion. They're sending me a MAC Lipglass in Sappho. I went on the MAC website to see what color it is, and ohhh it's so pretty! It's like a deep purple-y fuschia... so nice! And I'm happy it's a color I don't already have. Yay!!
Add me on Twitter for fashion news, competitions (hosted by others, not me. At least for now!), occasional health news, and plenty of stupid comments from yours truly!

The link's over here --->
or if you're feeling lazy, click here. Woot!

LOL Smileyface?

Ha... that song makes me want to jump out of a window. Actually, that's how I feel about most Trey Songz songs.

But back to the point. If you look over there --->

you'll see that I have a Twitter account now. Woot. So add me: www.twitter.com/FrockYeah!
Wow... I've been gone for so long! But I've been doing some good things while I've been away.

I'm on Spring Break (still having break is one of the perks of being in school :P) in New York, which has been so much fun! I visited a bunch of stores like 3.1 Philip Lim, Maison Martin Margiela, APC... oh, and Temperley, where I wanted everything in the store! In D.C., we don't have very many luxury stores, like of the actual designer, so that was different.

I finally picked up some stuff from the Liberty x MAC collection, so I'm a happy camper there... Also had to buy a new brush while I was there, because I'm a clumsy idiot and knocked my eyeshadow brush down the drain.

Anyway, I'm totally rambling, but I thought I should give y'all an update!

I'm just saying...

Thank you!

To all of my followers, and everyone who comments on my posts, thanks! I love to hear from you all... that way, I don't feel like I'm talking to myself. :)

But seriously, thanks. You guys make my day.

(And I will get back to all of you as soon as I can.)

I'm back!

Heyyyyyyy everyone! Finals are over and I can go back to blogging, laying in bed all day, playing Sims 3, etc.

I've really missed posting and reading your blogs and comments, so I'm happy to get back into the groove.

Today's my second day of vacation, and I haven't really done much except do my hair (I'm taking out my braids) and catch up on all my Bloglovin posts.

Oh, also I've randomly been watching Korean dramas. I just finished Boys Over Flowers. Any suggestions for the next one? ;) xx

Lots of shopping news!

Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been gone so long. But I come bearing lots of good news (and lots of text), including a sweepstakes!

First off, I hope you all have had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday. And if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you had a great week anyway.

So, down to business. I have a link from ShopIntuition.com to a "secret" landing page. On this page, you can enter a sweepstakes for a $100 gift card for the website! Entries are due by December 3 (so my bad for taking so long with this, but you've still got like... 5 days?) and the winner will be notified on Dec. 4th. Good luck! Shop Intuition also has their annual shopping guide up. I always find shopping guides useful, especially when I have NO idea what to get someone.

Second -- and this is what I'm most excited about -- De*Nada's online store is opening! When I first wrote about De*Nada and its designer, Virginia Arrisueno, I mentioned that the store was soon to open. So tomorrow, November 30, go to denadadesign.com and check out the entire Autumn and Winter '09 collections. Best part of it? They ship worldwide!! Happy shopping!
I haven't been posting/commenting much, because I... (*sob*) have homework!

Never fear, I'll be around.

Fall Accessories

Hey y'all, here's a little heads-up on coming attractions: I'm working on a series of collages showcasing some of the fall accessories to either look forward to (if you've got hella money) or hope to see in H&M (if you're broke like me).

Here's a little taste:

L to R: Nina Ricci, Diane von Furstenburg, Giambattista Valli; Versace, Balenciaga; Jimmy Choo, Mulberry (love it!), Fendi.
Hi everyone!

I was at the beach this past week, so that's why I haven't posted anything, but there are a few things for you guys to look forward to:

- A review of Isabella Oliver clothing

- New purchases!

- Maybe my sneaker collection?? (That depends on how ambitious I'm feeling.)

I miss the beach, but I'm happy to be back and reading your blogs and comments again! :)
Sorry I haven't been around lately, I've been working. Updates this weekend!

Road trip!

I won't be back till next week, because tomorrow I'm going here...

Atlanta! Woot! I've never been and I'm really excited. Hopefully, I'll get some nice pictures. If I do, I'll post them here. Any suggestions as to where to go?

Photos via Google Images and Wikipedia.
I haven't updated in a while, because I've been super busy... I recently found out I got into grad school (excuse the horn-tooting -- I'm just soooooooo excited), so I've been celebrating that as well as a good friend's birthday and supporting/promoting my new friends' band.

I did finally get my camera working, so I can show you guys my sorta "thrifted" clothes that I mentioned a while ago!
